Sausage Hike

Date: 21st Apr 2017 Author: Richard Smith

On Good Friday the whole Group Beavers Cubs and Scouts with parents and supporters walked to our site The Cabin on Raby Estate. This is a tradition that the group has done for 50+ years and has a nickname of ‘Sausage Hike’ we all arrived at the site and split into teams and completed obstacle courses, collected hidden eggs, a nature trail and held a Easter Raffle.

it was a fantastic day and the sun was shining as around 70 people attended the day. The last task of the day was to cook the sausages and eat them around the fire. Once the day was finished it was Red Team that won and got the prize! We then all walked back to Staindrop and headed home.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
