Baden-Powell chose Saint George to be the patron Saint of Scouting. He felt that the Saint George legend set a good example of faith, courage and perseverance for future generations.
St George’s Day Service will be held on Sunday 22nd April @ St. Cuthbert’s Church in the town centre. Please meet on the forecourt of the Town Hall for 14:30 in full smart uniform (ironed neckers, smart Trousers and Shoes). All Scouts of Darlington will be attending the Service so we really ask that as many members as possible can attend this very important parade.
Parents & Carers are welcome to stay for the service it will begin at 15:00 hours and end at 16:00 hours. Please collect your child from the front of the Church at the end of the service once all Scouts in the District have been dismissed.
