St Georges Day Celebration

On Wednesday 24th April the Group will come together to celebrate St George the Patron Saint of England but also the Patron Saint of All Scouts around the World.

We will be in full smart uniform and parade to our hall on Cobden Street then a group picture followed by a Family BBQ

Baden-Powell chose Saint George to be the patron Saint of Scouting. He felt that the Saint George legend set a good example of faith, courage and perseverance for future generations. St George’s Day is celebrated on the 23rd April, and around this time Scouts will hold some form of celebration.

This is to replace the traditional church service on sunday. we have decided that we still need to celebrate the day but have modernised the event.
