Christmas Tree

Date: 21st Nov 2022 Author: Richard Smith

Organisations and Charities have the opportunity to decorate one of many Christmas trees that have been placed around shops and shopping malls in the town centre. Our tree is in Queen Street shopping centre. All the young people from all sections created decorations for the tree using the theme Scouting at Christmas.

The young people then had the opportunity to place their decorations on the tree for all to see and it will stay in the shopping centre during the Christmas period and forms part of a trail around the town where people can visit them all. Well done to everyone the tree looks fantastic!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
