Cub Camp 23 June

Date: 5th Jul 2017 Author: Richard Smith

June 23rd saw the Cubs camping at The Cabin for a weekend visiting local waterfalls. After breakfast Saturday morning, we jumped in Barney the Bus and off we went to Bowlees visitors centre in Middleton In Teesdale.
We walked up to Summerhill Force and Gibson’s Cave then off to Low Force for a rest. After crossing the swing bridge, we headed to High Force and once we arrived we admired the view and had our Dinner. Then a walk back to the bus and off to Tan Hill the highest Pub in Great Britton the back into Barnard Castle where the cubs joined the Home Guard. While learning the Drill and looking at the guns of WW2 we had a chippy tea then back to site for games supper and bed.
Sunday all up breakfast tents down then it was knife and axe skills with the cubs who all qualified and passed the basic skills. Then off to the playpark for some free time then home for bath and bed!
