District Camp 2022
District Camp a first for the 7th for over 10 years! Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers attended the camp with 80 members from the group attending.
The camp was well attended with the 5th 7th 9th 11th 14th 19th 21st and Harrowgate Hill Explorers with Eastbourne Explorers having members there. It was great to have so many young people together on one site.
Friday we arrived at the Barney Beck camp site in North Yorkshire which belongs to Girl Guiding. It is a lovely site with a large field and great facilities including showers! Fortunately the scouts had attended the site on the Wednesday before and pitched all the tents so all the young people had to do was move in. This meant they had more time to play and meet other people. There was a disco in the main marquee and games around the site. After supper everyone was tucked up in bed ready for Saturday.
Saturday morning everyone awoke and put on their Pirate costumes as the camp had been themed as ‘Pirates of the CarriDarlo’. The day was filled with activities such as a climbing wall and walk the plank to find the buried treasure. Everyone had a fantastic time. Saturday evening was campfire time then bed for Sunday.
All up early for Sunday with garden games and tuck shop followed by a conga and final dance to take me home’ country roads. A fantastic but very tiring camp. We cant wait for next years!
