7th and 11th Scouts hiked to the cabin to complete there Expedition Challenge badge.  They met at the village of Little Newsham and carried their equipment and using a map and compass navigated their way to Staindrop. Once they arrived at Staindrop they had a rest then hiked onto the Estate and to the Cabin. The hike was just short of 5 miles and all groups did amazing even the one that got lost and took the long route to the Cabin.

Friday evening was chill time after the hike and once the Scouts had pitched their tents they sat around the fire and played some wide games in the woods.

Saturday all up around 10am and breakfast started after a well earned rest. The day was full of traditional scout skills using knives, axes and saws making tent pegs, spoons and axes.  The Scouts did some fire lighting at the outdoor classroom and in teams made and followed some tracking signs. S ’mores were cooked on the fires. Saturday after tea they played in the woods again playing predator and relievo.

Sunday was a nice warm day so they setup the water slide and swing. Everyone had a brilliant camp and earned some badges. Hikes Away, Camper and Expedition Challenge.
