Joint Cub Camp

7th Darlington Cubs and 27th Darlington Cubs held a joint camp at The Cabin on Raby Estate.  It was the first Cub Camp for the 27th and first time camping for many of their young people.  The cubs arrived on Friday night to move into the tents and set up home for the next few days.  That night they plated in the woods in the dark and had a campfire.

Saturday morning all up for a big full English breakfast then the morning the cubs learnt some scout skills in the open classroom on fire lighting, bivvy building and survival skills. After dinner the cubs set some bug traps and followed a trail laid by the leaders using tracking skills.  That night the cubs held a ‘Cubs got Talent’ show with some fantastic sketch’s skits and songs!

Sunday, we packed up camp and headed to the play area at the castle. Everyone had a fantastic time and we can’t wait to have the 27th cubs visit us again!

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
