The beavers are off to camp!
Friday night the beavers arrived at The Cabin all excited and a little nervous as this is the first time many have camped and even been away from home. Tents pitched and bags moved in protective teddies in sleeping bags ready and everyone was happy. Supper eaten and a night hike around the forest was undertaken. Everyone back and in bed with teddies by 10pm.
Saturday morning everyone was up early, very early… maybe a little too early but everyone was up! Full English camp breakfast of cereal then sausages eggy bread and beans. Some free time to play and explore in the woods then off to The Castle. The Beavers hiked all the way to Raby Castle through the woods across the fields and by the two large ponds.
Once at the castle we all enjoyed our picnic then it was time to head to The Plotters Field.
The Plotters field is the new outdoor adventure playground at Raby and the beavers had an amazing time being Plotters and Rebels rackling the challenging obstacles by climbing up rope ladders sliding down long slides and running through the tree top walkway. After what felt like many hours later, we headed back to camp for a chicken dinner cake and custard then campfire before bed.
Sunday morning the beavers weren’t as keen to be us quite as early as the Saturday but after the camp breakfast the morning session started. The beavers helped to close camp and take down tents then played in the woods building bivvies. An amazing camp where everyone had a brilliant time and roll on the next Beaver camp.
