Sausage Hike

Date: 19th Apr 2022 Author: Richard Smith

The Groups annual Sausage hike as always took place on Good Friday this being the first one for 2 years due to the Covid pandemic. Everyone from Squirrels to Explorers with parents’ siblings and group supporters attended for the annual fun day.

The day gives chance for all to see the groups own campsite The Cabin on Raby Estate near Staindrop.  The group is really lucky to have this amazing place and its great to invite everyone to come and visit.

The day starts with a hike into the Estate from Staindrop and once the last person arrives, we all sit and have our packed lunches together. The rest of the day is made up with obstacle courses, egg hunts, campsite games and a tour of the area. Everyone had a fantastic time and can’t wait to attend the camps.

George, Tracy and Richard also did a sponsored hike to the event from Darlington leaving at 7am and arriving to a fanfare and round of applause! 20 miles hiked to raise some funds for the group! BRAVO and Thank You!
