Squirrels at Raby

Date: 31st Oct 2022 Author: Richard Smith

On a very wet Saturday the Squirrels went to Raby.  They jumped aboard Barney the bus and headed to The Cabin the groups own campsite.  Barney dropped them off in the village Staindrop and they hiked through the woods and fields to the site.

Once there everyone had dinner and warmed up in the cabin.  After dinner everyone headed up to the bivvy area and built an amazing bivvy that everyone could fit into! They explored the forest looking for bugs and monsters then headed back to have some smores.  As the rain was so bad, they roasted the marshmallows over candles in the cabin. Hot chocolate and smores eaten it was time for some free time in the woods before the bus home.

Everyone had a brilliant time and didn’t let the weather spoil the day well done Squirrels!
