St Georges Day Event

Date: 2nd May 2019 Author: Richard Smith

To celebrate St. George the Patron Saint of Scouting the whole group came together on Wednesday 1st May to renew the promise to remind ourselves of the importance of the family of Scouting.  The Beavers Cubs and Scouts all said aloud the promise in the hall with nearly every member present.

We then went outside for a group photo before marching to Eastbourne Park for an evening of games and fun.  While we were there, we invested Emma into the group as an assistant Beaver Leader.  It was good to march in the groups local area and we had lots of people come out of their houses to wave and pass comment on how smart we all looked. 80 young people and 12 leaders with parents marched from the hall on Cobden Street to the park gates.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
